| REAL BAD XX DJ Tim Jones was born in Bristol in the west country of the UK. There, he began his music career by learning violin and piano in grade school. As a child, he developed a love for both classical and modern music, and by the age of 10, he was entertaining friends at parties with his parents’ Decca record player and spool tape deck.
Today, Tim is an internationally renowned DJ who loves music and moving the dance floor. Tim’s career as a DJ began in the underground dance clubs of Brighton on the south coast of the UK. Working in clubs for fun -- and free drinks -- Tim warmed up for and shared the decks with some of electronica’s most respected DJs, including Fat Boy Slim and John Digweed.
Tim's first big break happened in 1998 in Australia. A friend recommended him to a popular Sydney club called Arq, and he was invited to play at the Mardi Gras recovery party that year. After that, word spread. Returning to London, he was invited to play the Saturday guest slot on the main floor at London's long-standing, world-famous gay club Heaven.
Since then, Tim has played at most of the main dance venues in London. He was resident DJ at The Fridge (Brixton), where he played at the infamous Love Muscle and the Rise after-hours parties. He has also been a regular at Crash, Barcode, and Growlhouse at Fire. Currently, he is resident DJ at The Eagle, London, where every Friday night he headlines Tonker, the sexiest weekly men-only event in Vauxhall.
Tim has played at society parties in venues such as Nobu Restaurant (London) and at various gay pride and bear community events across Europe. He plays regularly at Liquid Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and he has also played at the Maydaze circuit party in Kuala Lumpur.
Tim’s monthly dance music podcasts are downloaded by an audience of over 25,000 listeners. The podcasts are available for free from the Apple iTunes Store under the name “Rise and Shine Recordings.” You can also listen to his podcasts here:
