How beneficiaries are selected
Three types of grants
Each year, GRGR/West funds five beneficiaries in the following forms:
1. Restricted Grant:
One organization receives a Restricted, $7,500 project-based or capacity building grant.
2. Unrestricted Grants – Two Large Organizations – Health & Community:
Each of the two large organizations (budgets of more than $1,000,000) receives 35% of the remaining funds raised. Organizations are funded for two-year cycles and are chosen in alternating years. A Community organization is chosen in even years, and a Health organization is chosen in odd years.
3. Unrestricted Grants – Two Small Organizations – Health & Community:
Each of the two small organizations (budgets of less than $1,000,000) receives 15% of the remaining funds raised. Organizations are funded for two-year cycles and are chosen in alternating years. A Health organization is chosen in even years, and a Community organization is chosen in odd years.
