San Francisco Photographer Barry Muniz

New Orleans native Barry Muniz discovered an interest in photography in college when he developed his first photograph from film in an elective photography class. His amateur photos caught the eye of many admirers, including a local modeling agency and his career was born. Photography soon became his passion and he moved to New York to attend Parson's School of Design for intensive studies in photography. While in the Big Apple Muniz worked with noted GQ fashion photographer Barry McKinley and learned the art of high fashion photography. A job offer on the West Coast led to a move to San Francisco to become the Photo Editor for 10% Magazine. Five years later, Muniz left the magazine to become a freelance photographer and has enjoyed a celebrity status in the Bay Area and beyond. His iconic celebrity and scenic photographs can be seen everywhere from the covers of magazines to the lobbies of major office buildings.
Today, in addition to continuing his freelance work, Muniz acts as the Director of Photography for Hot House Entertainment. His daily experience behind the camera shooting some of today's hottest men make him an excellent choice for this year's REAL BAD XX photographer.
